What I learned:
One point that the article made was that "post-processing" of a photo is not cheating. Many of the photos that I take look best when they are edited afterwards. In the case of these photos, I had to edit the colors and shading afterwards to achieve the look I wanted. Another point the article covered was that composition of the photo beforehand is also important, as deciding the angles and what to include and not include in the photo can really change how the viewer sees the photo. I set my camera up portrait style so I could make the photo feel longer and make sure to capture more of the bubbles. I liked that the article understood that great subjects are better than great images. Blowing bubbles would have looked pretty plain to anyone walking by, but the way the photos were taken makes the act more interesting.
What I did:
My friend and I decided to use some bubbles she had in her car and attempt to capture them on camera. We took around 30 photos but the ones in the index prints were the best ones. While we were taking photos, I was attempting to get one that showed the bubbles close up to the lens of the camera. This took a good amount of time as it was difficult to capture the bubble in the right spot while it was windy. In the background you can see the cliffs on Davenport which is where I spent a lot of my winter break with friends.
